How many seals are there in the book of revelation

So the Second Coming concludes those seven seals. That makes this prophecy—even though it has a lot of bad news—the most exciting, wonderful news imaginable! The first seal Christ opens reveals the first horseman of the apocalypse. The first four seals reveal a total of four horsemen. Christians usually assume this horseman is Jesus Christ because Christ also comes on a white horse. But Christ comes with a sword, not with a bow Revelation This is a false Christ who has deceived the world —the Christian world and the non-religious—about the prophecies of Revelation!

Christ unseals and explains this to us in Matthew If you read through the chapter, you see that the main sign is the gospel being preached around the world verse Christ was saying that His true gospel message would not be preached—but then, right before the end, it would be. That was the main sign Christ gave, but there are others here. Here, then, is the meaning of the first seal in Revelation, the first horseman of the apocalypse.

This is what Christ revealed: It is the white horseman of religious deception. This horseman proclaims a lying message about Christ. This false religion proclaims that Christ was the Messiah, but it is deceiving people about what He said! This horseman comes first because he causes the most suffering by far. This is the deadliest of all the horsemen.

The second seal reveals the horseman of war. What did Christ say about this in the Olivet prophecy? There will be all kinds of wars from the first coming of Christ to the Second Coming—but those right at the very end before His Second Coming will be about times worse than any ever on this planet!

That is what Christ is telling us. We ought to take note because it is already beginning to unfold before our eyes. Look at all the countries that have nuclear bombs and are ready to detonate them. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. The fourth of these seven seals is the horseman of death. There are the third and fourth seals: famine and pestilence, and all the death that will result worldwide.

These are the conditions and events Jesus Christ said to look for right before His return! Verses of Revelation 6 describe the next of these seven seals. This is a world-shaking event! Why were these saints killed during the Tribulation? Several times in Scripture God promises to protect His people during that period e. Revelation Other scriptures reveal the answer. Christ chastens it for being lukewarm and spiritually wretched. That is a shameful truth.

These people who have known God but turned away are not going to be protected by Him! God will allow them to experience the nightmares of the Tribulation because they were lukewarm and not excited about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to stop all these crises forever! God says that this is what it will take for them to turn back to Him so that He can get them into the Kingdom of God, into His Family.

And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. We must remember that the Book of Revelation is not written in exact chronological order and that it is steeped in symbolic images and the meanings of all of these images or symbols are not all clearly understood.

We can take educated guesses about these things but the main point is that God will judge the unrepentant but will spare His wrath on all who have repented and trusted in Christ. Thanks for stopping by! Thank you so much. It helped me a lot since I just read The Book of Revelation. But I want to know your side. Thank you! Notice it is a pale horse—the very color of death. This seal was marked by much cooperation of the political and spiritual powers and of religious wars and troubles.

The history of those times is full of the sad record of intolerance, especially religious intolerance, and it was not limited to any one religion, or to anyone nation or race. Catholics suffered, Protestants suffered, Jews suffered—and those of other religious views, and even those of no religious profession, suffered.

It is said that many, many thousands were put to death for their faith in those sorrowful years. How thankful we can be for the religious freedom we enjoy today!

Read more about the fourth seal. During this time those who witnessed for the faith with their blood are shown as crying out to God. Read more about the fifth seal. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. Sure enough a great earthquake did follow.

Its real cause is not yet known. The following night the moon appeared as blood. Prophecy now marches on 53 years, to the night of November 13, , when stars fell over America in the most gigantic display of celestial fireworks ever seen by the eye of man. Eye-witnesses of the falling stars describe with vivid words that never-to-be-forgotten night when the whole sky seemed to be on fire with blazing stars—and continued so for hours.

The vision of the sixth seal sweeps on to the events that occur in connection with the second coming of Christ. But multitudes are pictured as unprepared for His appearing. They have no faith in God's Word; therefore they are not looking for the certain events of the sixth seal. They have not yielded themselves to God's love, nor received the free gift of eternal life offered to them through the blood of Christ as a gift to all men.

They have either rejected or neglected so great a salvation. And as the sixth seal closes they are being forced out of the era or time and are not prepared for eternity. Men who never prayed to God will cry to the rocks and mountains of inanimate nature, and say….

For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand? This is the end of the seven time periods in the history of redemption, the completion of God's plan for humanity in the Christian dispensation. It's the end of the story, when God puts a period to history. Heaven is emptied of all its angels. The songs of many angels around the throne are stilled, because the singers are not there. They are with Jesus on the happiest mission of all their blessed ministry for the heirs of salvation.

Not one will be left behind. Heaven will be emptied of its angel throng; as they accompany Him to earth to gather together His elect.
