Which ereaders have replaceable batteries

By the time the battery dies you are likely going to be looking at devices that have been updated times, maybe more. I know people are still using the K1 I sat next to a woman using a K1 in the airport just this month and she is on her original battery. The Kindle has had four new iterations since the K1 was released. I'm four and a half years into my Cybook gen 3. Then tried my wife's old cool-er broken reader's battery, now works perfect.

While I could be wrong. It seems if you take apart almost any ebook reader to replace the battery it can mess them up. Of course not all the time. Kinda a hit and miss kinda thing.

Like taking a gamble. Before I purchased my first ebook reader, I kinda got the idea, once the battery dies, it will have to be replaced. You can only recharge them so many times. How many times that is, i simply don't know. So the first investment I made was a program to read ebooks on my computer.

It was bucks, but its lifetime updates. Amazing program. Icebook reader pro. You can get a trial version and the only difference between paid and free is you get a pop up every 10 or 15 min reminding its shareware.

It will even read the book to you and make audio books. Now that I had a back up program for reading, Then I invested in a nook touch. If it dies or whatever I can still read. I am simply like most you guys LOVE to read. Originally Posted by HarryT. PocketBook has an external easy to reach battery case. My netbook battery didn't last a year - I'm not getting a replacement either, it still works with PSU Don't worry too much about it, get a device you really like instead. Jetbook Lite uses four AA batteries, and the batteries can be the rechargable type. The batteries on the Kindle Keyboard and Kindle Touch are easily replaceable.

But honestly, so what? By the time I want or need to change the battery on my Kindle Keyboard, it will be well past time to replace the unit. And the cost of a new eReader will be low enough that it really won't make sense not to go with the newer model. That being said, I'd probably avoid the Kindle Non-Touch with its glued battery if you're concerned. It is effectively non-replaceable. Last edited by The Terminator; at PM.
